Steve Pomroy

I'm a pilot, Class 1 Flight Instructor, and Pilot Examiner with over 25 years experience in flight operations and flight training and around 8,000 hours of varied flight experience. I'm also educated in mechanical and aerospace engineering with three years of experience teaching engineering in the Middle East. Flying experience includes civilian flight instruction (in two different regions: Atlantic and Prairie), military flight instruction, fire patrols, scheduled airline operations (WestJet Encore, where I flew over 1,000 hours as a Captain on the DHC-8-400), and operating as a birddog pilot for fire crews. My type ratings are on the DHC8 and the AC50. I'm currently spending my summers birddogging with the fire crews in Northern Ontario, and my winters as a contract pilot/instructor and Pilot Examiner serving Southern Manitoba. I'm also a partner in a company (www.ancaviation.ca) building online Flight Instructor training, and two other online education companies -- one in aviation (StudentPilot.ca) and one in STEM (StillKinetic.com).
